Next Steps
01/10/2019
We are currently finalising our proposed and revised Community Park plans. We will submit a planning application based off these plans and hopefully we will have a positive decision on planning in the next few months.
As with a lot of community developments, grant funding plays an important role. We will continue to apply for grants that match our requirements and needs for development. However, most large grant applications require some sort of planning permission in place before funding becomes available. We hope when we have planning in place, it will allow for us to apply for larger grants, which will drive the development of the park even further.

Archeological digs are taking place in the Park this Monday & Tuesday. This process is vital to the planning permission and if everything is ok we will be in a position to apply for planing once again.

We submitted a planning application to Cork County Council in February 2019. The Council requested an Archaeological Assessment be carried out in relation to a Ring Fort which is located in the field. We engaged the services of an Archaeologist to carry out this request. His report was then submitted to Cork Co Co. and as a result the original park plan is no longer viable.
Currently our Engineers are drawing up a new layout which will contain everything that was in the original plan. We are hopeful that this new plan will be submitted for planning before the end of the year.
A copy of the revised park plan is shown overleaf. It is also available to view in Crowley’s Shop and on our website www.rylanecommunitypark.ie.
Damage to Community Property
Our “Rylane Community Park” sign has been damaged twice in recent weeks.
The top right corner of the sign was broken off in the first instance. The second lot of damage is to two other corners of the sign. The cost of this sign was over €800.
If this vandalism continues we will have no option except to put up cctv. This is something we cannot afford to do so if anyone is in a position to sponsor a cctv system please get in touch.
If anyone has any information about the damage to the sign, please contact any member of RCPA or Macroom Gardai.
Pride In Our Community Award
We received a “Pride In Our Community Award” recently from Muintir Na Tire. We were commended for Social Inclusion and received a Certificate along with €100.
